Rúna Sigrlinn is a Swedish brand that specializes in Viking-inspired wristwatches with Old Norse symbolism, in the form of golden runes instead of numbers.
Rúna Sigrlinn is a tribute to the Viking Age and the stories that shaped the North. The Vikings lived in close interaction with the rhythms of nature and carried with them a strong belief in myths, gods and the forces that ruled the world. They traveled across seas and lands, but also through symbols, sagas and traditions that still characterize modern culture.
The name Rúna Sigrlinn is taken from the myth of the young woman Rúna, daughter of a merchant. She was said to be able to foresee future events – the size of harvests, the strength of storms, and when to sail or stay in port. For this ability she was called Sigrlinn , “light of victory”, a light that guided her and her followers through the mists of time.
By combining the ancient language of the runes with modern design, Rúna Sigrlinn brings Viking heritage back into everyday life in the form of a wristwatch – as a quiet but powerful reminder of the world of the Vikings. We believe that the Vikings, with their stories and the way they saw the world, have much to teach us who live today. Not least to provide more perspectives, but also to make us listen to nature and eternity.
